Projects of the Moment: WIPs Progress Report

TinyKiwi is knitting monogamously on her Fibonerdy Shawl. She is not giving up! For the glory of Slytherin!  She is also turning some vintage fabric scraps into headbands.

RambunctiouSky works more on the striped vanilla socks. A tiny piece of the button band for the Sashiko cardigan has been picked up. The Kiwi cross-stitch is now a MIA WIP.

It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Finished Objects!

TK has finished some potions earrings for RS. Awesome!

Brainy Moments (10:52)

RS tries out the (free for a day) Pomodoro timer app and talks about the time management Pomodoro Technique

Shiny! (17:44)

We talk about how our hair doesn’t respond well to cheap shampoo, and RS tries out the moisturizing Kenra shampoo

Hyperventilate (19:05)

TK is knitting, knitting, knitting. We mention the Weasley Sisters Podcast.

RS wishes she could somehow knit and play video games at the same time.  She’s currently playing Legend of Mana and we discuss the Shin Megami Tensei/ Demon Summoner series by Atlus, and TK’s disappointment at Atlus’ lack of new character creation.  Stop recycling the same art/demons/opponents, Atlus!

RS is watching Murder She Wrote with Jessica Fletcher played by the fabulous Angela Lansbury. She talks about episode 13 in season 2, “Trial By Error.”

Books to Stick Your Nose In (25:53)

RS finished reading Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson (RS gives a warning for scenes of war and raunchy bits, if you dislike either of them, maybe pass this one up) and is inspired to get cooking with Keep it Seasonal by Annie Wayte, which has great pictures, tasty recipes, and good vegetarian options (although not all the book is vegie.)

We talk about the deliciousness of beets and how to bake them.

Ear Party (34:23)

TK listens to Morcheeba’s Fear and Love, Trigger Hippie (the embodiment of that 1990s sound) and others. Find them linked on our Ear Party thread in Ravelry!

RS enjoys the a capella group Pentatonix singing pop songs. Here they are with Somebody That I Used to Know cover and a medley of Daft Punk.

Walks in the Urban Wilderness (36:50)

TK has been doing great with all the garden workouts and walking. RS gets her walking in, misses out on the yoga, and talks about wanting to check out the Iyengar yoga style studio near her house. (Official Iyengar website.) RS sets a new goal of 2 hours a week of yoga.

I Spy! (41:19)

TK saw a kestral, pickleweed and a bunch of water/shore birds at a wetlands preserve. RS saw a tree of nesting cormorants.

Random Remnants (48:05)

RS enjoys farmer’s market strawberries and is trying a low sugar diet. We discuss bread, E6000 glue (thanks StripySquirrel!), and GoodReads.
